11 Day Discover Bhutan
Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Upon arrival in Paro, you will be greeted by your tour guide and driver. You can visit the Rinpung Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic structures, and the National Museum of Bhutan.
Day 2: Paro Sightseeing
Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest monastery, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bhutan. After the hike, you can visit the Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress that once defended Bhutan against Tibetan invaders.
Day 3: Paro to Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. On the way, visit the Tachog Lhakhang Iron Bridge and Tamchog Lhakhang temple. In Thimphu, visit the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma statue, and the Folk Heritage Museum.
Day 4: Thimphu to Punakha
Drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan. En route, stop at the Dochula Pass for a stunning panoramic view of the Himalayas. Visit the Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan, and hike to the Chimi Lhakhang temple.
Day 5: Punakha to Phobjikha
Drive to Phobjikha and visit the Gangtey Monastery, a 17th-century monastery with stunning architecture. You can also take a nature hike through the Phobjikha Valley, a beautiful valley and winter habitat for the black-necked crane.
Day 6: Phobjikha to Trongsa
Travel to Trongsa and visit the Trongsa Dzong, one of the largest and most impressive dzongs in Bhutan. You can also visit the Ta Dzong, a watchtower that has been converted into a museum.
Day 7: Trongsa to Bumthang
Travel to Bumthang, a region known for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Visit the Jakar Dzong, the Jambay Lhakhang temple, and the Kurje Lhakhang temple.
Day 8: Bumthang Sightseeing
Explore the beautiful Bumthang valley and visit the Tamshing Lhakhang temple and the Konchogsum Lhakhang temple.
Day 9: Bumthang to Punakha
Drive to Punakha, visit Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a beautiful temple built by the Queen Mother of Bhutan.
Day 10: Punakha to Paro
Return to Paro and visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. You can also explore the town of Paro on your own.
Day 11: Departure
Bid farewell to Bhutan as you depart from Paro airport.
