8 Day Paro Tsechu
Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Arrive at Paro International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. You can also explore Paro town on foot and visit the National Museum and Paro Dzong.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing
Take a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Visit the Buddha Dordenma statue, Tashichho Dzong, and the National Memorial Chorten. You can also explore the local markets and shops.
Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha
Take a scenic drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful and historic fortresses in Bhutan. Afterwards, visit Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the Divine Madman, a revered Buddhist saint.
Day 4: Punakha to Gangtey Valley
Drive to the beautiful Gangtey Valley, home to the black-necked cranes that migrate from Tibet in winter. Visit Gangtey Monastery, one of the largest and oldest Nyingma monasteries in Bhutan.
Day 5: Paro Sightseeing
Drive back to Paro and visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. In the afternoon, explore the traditional farmhouses and experience the Bhutanese way of life.
Day 6: Paro Tsechu Festival
Attend the final day of the Paro Tsechu festival and witness the unfurling of the Thongdrel, a large tapestry that is only displayed on the last day of the festival.
Day 7: Tiger’s Nest Hike
After breakfast, embark on a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest monastery, one of the most famous landmarks in Bhutan. Farewell dinner in the evening at the traditional Bhutanese farm house.
Day 8: Departure
Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
