8 Day Thimphu Tsechu

Day 1: Arrival in Paro

 Arrive at Paro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Thimphu. Take some time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. You can also explore Thimphu town on foot and visit the Buddha Dordenma statue.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing 

Visit the National Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, and the Folk Heritage Museum. In the afternoon, visit the Changangkha Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu Tsechu Festival 

Attend the Thimphu Tsechu festival, a colorful and vibrant event that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan. Watch the masked dances, or cham, performed by monks and laymen, and join in the festivities with the locals.

Day 4: Thimphu to Punakha

Take a scenic drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful and historic fortresses in Bhutan. Afterwards, visit Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the Divine Madman, a revered Buddhist saint.

Day 5:  Punakha to Gangtey Valley 

Drive to the beautiful Gangtey Valley, home to the black-necked cranes that migrate from Tibet in winter. Visit Gangtey Monastery, one of the largest and oldest Nyingma monasteries in Bhutan.

Day 6: Gangtey to Paro 

Drive back to Paro and visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. Evening at your leisure.

Day 7: Tiger’s Nest Hike

Embark on a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest monastery, one of the most famous landmarks in Bhutan. After the hike, return to Paro. Farewell dinner at the traditional Bhutanese farm house. 

Day 8: Departure

 Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
